KingKira’s View: We got a short but eventful update this week, props to Murata & One for dishing out content more frequently hopefully, this continues. The chapter started by going 5 minutes in time showing us what Drive Knight was up to before he interrupted Tatsumaki vs Psyrochi, DK observed the base lift from a distance while holding Nyan’s body, he admits to having little energy (understandable as he’s been active for at least a whole day) before absorbing energy from an underground electric pipe. DK remains shrouded in mystery as we are yet to get a confirmation of where his true allegiance lies, this chapter also confirmed that DK isn’t back in the battle to support the heroes but for his gain and he caused a blackout in an active area of town (which isn’t exactly a heroic thing to do). In real-time DK continues to pursue Jet Psyrochi.

We switch over to Amai Mask and boy oh boy is he looking bad right now. He is still visibly traumatized by Fuhrer Ugly and to make matters worse a couple of the strike team members can see him in this state, Child emperor even suggests that Amai falls back to rest turning his shame into rage as he considers killing the heroes just like he did in the redrawn chp 103. Iaian moves closer to Amai out of concern and to the surprise of the entire fanbase BLAST shows up in Amai’s memory, meaning Amai had some sort of relationship with Blast (Maybe Blast inspired Amai). This was undoubtedly the highlight of the chapter but I have mixed feelings about it, on one hand even though it’s different from the one we saw in chp 119 it’s a cool sight to see (though I’m not digging the shoulder pads) on the other hand it feels a bit too early to be seeing Blast but that’s just my opinion. The chapter concludes after the brief Blast flashback as Amai smashes his head into the ground to snap himself out of the rage and tells Iaian some BS about fashion. I’m hoping for some epic action in the next update now that we got some of these character moments.

KingKira’s character of the week: I’m going for my boy Amai mask this week. He got embarrassed a lot in this chapter but I like how he had those deranged inner monologues, we also got to see Blast as a result of his flashback and he managed to get a grip on himself at the end.

KingKira’s best scene: The easy choice is Blast’s grand appearance but I also liked the scene where the strike team members starred at Amai. Only in OPM can you find a wholesome panel of 2 naked guys standing next to a little boy.

KingKira’s best panel: I’m torn between the Blast reveal spread and the final panel with Amai walking away from Iaian, but I’ll give it to Blast this week, only One knows when next we’ll see him again.

Judgment: It was shorter than usual but still an interesting update to read. I’m itching for action but I can’t complain as we got some cool character interactions and a big reveal. Due to the abrupt conclusion, this is most likely the first part of the chapter so I’ll consolidate my rating when the next part is out. 7.5/10
